~~Melissa Fowler, Dylan's mother, wrote this for his memorial service~~
Dylan is the one who brought us the joy of that first announcement of "congratulations, you're going to have a baby !", calling parents and grandma and grandpa for the first time.
Dylan is the one who allowed me the experience of feeling life inside me, swollen hands, big belly and shoe shopping.
Dylan opened my womb, allowed me to experience labor, contractions and childbirth.
Dylan is the one who allowed me to become a real mother and to look over at Chad as he held his baby for the first time and see not only my best friend a husband, but to see the proud face of a brand new daddy.
In those 20 minutes he lived, even though I knew what was happening, Dylan brought us joy like we've never felt before.
Chad and I have already thanked God in prayer together for this experience and for one day making Dylan a big brother by blessing us again, with another baby.
Again, we thank you all and we love you all so much.
These past few days have been bittersweet for us. We want to thank Daryl & Bassett Funeral Home for their service, but, mostly for the way they treated us as a family.
Thank you, Pastor and Sister Gore for loving us.
We wanted to keep the service private for our family and closest friends.
The people here today would have had the biggest influence on Dylan's life.
No one can ever replace real family members. I know Earl and Sharon and my mom are the best grandparents in the world and my brother the best uncle, but, because distance would have kept Dylan from seeing them as much as we would have liked, our friends here would served, not in place of, but as surrogate family, ~Marsha and The Gore's as grandparents, The Smith's and Sim's as Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. Brandon and Bridget as big brother and sister.
Chad and I thank you all for the love and genuine friendship we have with you.
We also want to thank God in everything and Dylan.
Even though now is a sad time, we are both thankful to have had this experience.
God blessed us with a son, a perfect little boy.
Dylan is and always will be a part of our family.
~~Melissa Fowler~~
Dylan's mother

Dylan Quinn Fowler was born prematurely at 8:20 a. m. on September 24, 2003 to Chad and Melissa Fowler. He weighed 12-1/4 oz and was 9-1/2 in. long..
Chad and Melissa had been trying to conceive for 16 years, and it finally happened!
We were all so excited and happy for them. We couldn't wait to see the baby that we just knew was going to be a boy.
God must have needed another special angel in heaven because Dylan's life on this earth was only 20 short minutes.
Dylan, you will forever be in our hearts!!
