welcome

Dehue was a mining town that got it's start
in about 1916. It was named after D. E. Hewitt.
It is located off route 10 on Rrum Creek,
which is about 7 miles east of Logan. Dehue was once
owned by Youngstown Mining Corp.

Many years ago, I would stay with my
brother-in-law and sister, Jim and Delores Cole.
We had lots of friends back then that included:
Sam and Jenny Montgomery, Roy and Inez Whisman,
Mr. and Mrs. Dillon, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Simmons and
Malcomb and Gay Floyd.

Now there isn't much left of Dehue.
Just a few families still live there. I have heard the
families who live there now will soon have to move.

The photos on this page were taken at Dehue in April, 2000.
Families still live in the houses, but, not for long.
Soon they will be gone too and Dehue will be just a memory!
